Online-Therapy.com Review 2026: The CBT Program, Prices and Refunds
How Online-Therapy.com’s CBT program works, what its Basic, Standard and Premium plans include, why the advertised $48 a week is a first-month price, and its refund rules.

Worth a look if you want structured CBT with worksheets and you’re paying out of pocket. Read the refund rules first, and expect month two to cost more than month one.

What Online-Therapy.com is
Online-Therapy.com is built around cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Every subscription includes a CBT program: worksheets, a journal and messaging with a therapist who responds to your work. Its FAQ says all of its therapists are trained in CBT. Live sessions are 45 minutes on the plans that include them.
That makes it feel less like “a therapist in your pocket” and more like a course with a guide. Some people find that structure exactly what they need. Others find it too much like homework.
Plans and prices
| Plan | Live sessions | Price | |---|---|---| | Basic | None (daily messaging + CBT program) | From $48/week in the first month | | Standard | One 45-minute session a week | Shown at checkout | | Premium | Two 45-minute sessions a week | Shown at checkout | | Couples | One 45-minute session a week with your partner | Shown at checkout |
The “from $48 a week” figure already includes a 20% discount for your first month. The full price isn’t published on the FAQ. HelpGuide’s review puts the three individual plans at roughly $200, $320 and $440 a month.
Insurance
Online-Therapy.com doesn’t bill insurance. It provides itemized receipts so you can submit them to your insurer yourself. Whether you get anything back depends on your plan’s out-of-network mental health benefits, so call your insurer before you start, not after.
Refunds and cancelling
This is the part to read before paying.
- Refunds are case by case, and you have to ask within 90 days of the charge.
- Not refundable: live sessions that took place, sessions you missed, sessions cancelled less than 24 hours ahead, and any messaging or worksheet exchanges.
- Cancelling is done from your subscription settings. When you click cancel, you’re offered a pause of one to four weeks instead; you won’t be charged during a pause.
Who it suits
- You like structure and would rather work through exercises than just talk.
- Your main concern is anxiety, worry or low mood, the areas CBT is most often used for.
- You want a lower first-month price than BetterHelp or Talkspace.
Who should look elsewhere
- You want to use insurance in-network. Try Talkspace or BetterHelp.
- You might need medication. There’s no psychiatry.
- You’re looking for teen therapy. It isn’t offered.
My verdict
Online-Therapy.com is the most “method-first” of the platforms I cover. If CBT is what you’re after, the worksheets and 45-minute sessions are a real plus. Just budget for the full price after the first month, and read the refund list before you buy rather than after.
